The Birkbeck Brothers Shield.

Donated by the families of John, William and Thomas Birkbeck.

 

Awarded to the Junior rider who accrues most handicap points in the club  ten series.

Awarded to the rider showing the greatest improvement in the number of points gained in Open Road Race and Track events, when compared to his total for the previous season.

Overall height 12”. Cup 3” high. Column 7.5” high. Base 1.5” high, 3.5” square. A plain silver plated cup on a cylindrical black/silver fluted column. It stands on a square black marble base with silver plated plaques bearing the name of the cup “Most Improved Rider, presented to Ferryhill Wheelers by Barry Shotton” and winners’ names and dates.

Awarded to the rider gaining the greatest number of points in Open, League and Division Championship meetings. Open and Divisional meetings score double points.

Overall height 7”. Cup 5” high. Plinth 2” high, 3.5” diameter. A silver cup with decorated handles. ‘Ferryhill Wheelers Track Champion’ is etched into the cup. A silver band on the circular black plinth bears the dates and winners’ names.

The George Bennett Trophy

Awarded annually to the veteran scoring the greatest total number of points in veterans road races in LVRC, BC or TLI non handicap event. A rider cannot score six points for a category win unless their are seven or more riders in the category. Points to reduce in line with the number of riders e.g. four riders would equal 3 points for a win and so on.

Overall height 12”. A silver plated cup with curved ornamental handles and engraved ‘Ferryhill Wheelers Cycling Club. Veterans Road Race Champion. Presented by George Bennett’. It stands on a circular black plinth with a silver plate for winners’ names and dates.
