Prior to 1979 this ‘Half wheel’ was the Senior Road Race Trophy. 10 Dec. 1979 A.G.M.
“The Senior Road Race Trophy (Half wheel) shall be awarded for Club 10s and be based on a handicap system 6,5,4,3,2,1 point awarded” (N.B. 1978 A.G.M. “new Senior R.R. trophy will be the Jim Edmenson Memorial”).
The Half wheel is no longer awarded and has been replaced by a cup. Awarded to the rider with the greatest number of points accrued during the Series from May to August.
Overall height 12”. Half wheel 8.5” high. Plinth 2.5” high, 5.5” diameter. Wooden plinth 1” high. Half a cycle wheel with rim, spokes and hub in aluminium. It stands on a circular wooden plinth with a silver band bearing winners’ names and dates from 1980 - 1995. This is attached to a circular black plinth which has one square silver plaque bearing winner’s names and dates 1996 -1999
The Lydia and Humphrey Dodds Trophy
Awarded to the rider with the greatest number of points accrued during the Club Ten series.
The Club decided in 2001 to dedicate this trophy to the memory of Lydia Dodds.Overall height 10”. Cup 6.75”. Plinth 3.25”.
A silver plated cup with curved decorated handles. “Ferryhill Wheelers C.C. Club 10 Series. Points Handicap” engraved on the body of the cup. Standing on a circular black plinth bearing a silver plaque for winners’ names and dates.
